Still Life
I have been on a bit of a historical fiction kick and Still Life by Sarah Winman fit the bill. I was influenced to pick up this book based on book reviewers that I rely on for good recommendations and ones that push me outside of my comfort zone. I am glad I chose this as a Book of the Month add on because it was a great book to slowly devour over a few weeks. I enjoyed it and fell in love with this kooky cast of characters. We Are Not Like Them
Wow. This is a heavy, powerful book. We Are Not Like Them is a contemporary fiction novel written by two friends, Christine Pride and Jo Piazza. I’m not kidding when I say this book had an immediate influence on me. I read it over the weekend when we were staying at a hotel for a mini family vacation. I wanted to grab a coffee from the lobby and was about to put a bra on under my pajamas when I thought to myself, why?! So some weird man

The Lioness

Set in the 1960's Serengeti, the setting and sense of place is glamorous and deadly. A group of movie stars and their entourage embark on an African safari, but not all of them survive. The Lioness is suspenseful, atmospheric and deadly. Synopsis: Set in 1964 Tanzania, Hollywood starlet Katie Barstow and her newlywed husband

Reading Habits
I get asked frequently how I am able to read so much, while having three little kiddos running a foot. Well, I have a few strategies to share with you, but it comes down to what reading means to you. For me, reading is a form of self-care, so I am intentional with my reading time because it is meaningful to me.
